Introduction of new Class “Super 600s”
Beginner Cup:
This class will consist of riders new to racing and riders that haven’t raced for more than 5 years. This class is intended to be an unintimidating transition into racing. This class will be a mix of 600s and 1000s and will generally consist of people who are very new to the sport and don’t necessarily have race
bikes yet. This feeder class is essential.
Sub-400s:
This will be a youth class rolled into one to accommodate Zontes riders as well as 250cc and 300c. We are engaging with the Short Circuit Bike Series to have more 150 events at RSR. The Short Circuit Bike Series is well supported we do not want to re-invent the wheel – we will simply allow our riders the platform to compete at RSR but not in a club race event.
Core 600s and Core 1000s: This class (formerly known as RSR class A, B and C), will be renamed and 600s and 1000s will compete together. We will have certain “time guidelines” in which if riders reach certain thresholds they will qualify for this class – and/or upgrade from the Beginners Cup RSR Premier Class 600s and Core 1000s:
This class (formerly know as CYD class) will be renamed and 600s and 1000s will compete together. We will have certain “time guidelines” in which if riders reach certain thresholds they will qualify for this class.
Championships: Our traditional championship is being done away with. We have noted that there are less than 35% championship contenders which are consistent in riding more than 50% of the available club races.
Our championship will take place under another platform which will consist of a “time attack” bolted on to a normal earmarked track day.
This will have the goal of creating a championship that measures a riders consistency.
Please see “Time Attack Championship” document for more details.
Super 600s
This is an introduction of a longer 600s race approximately 15-20 laps to with the intention of testing the endurance and tactical planning of riders. We may
choose to do this on a normal club race day alternatively on a separate day where this class of rider can also compete in other events.
